April 2020 – Doing What We Can
For the month of April, Linne Calodo and Slacker Wines are donating 10% of sales to the following organizations. Thank you for your support – your purchase helps many others.
SLO Food Bank: The SLO Food Bank distributes food to more than 30,000 individuals per month in San Luis Obispo County. They do this in partnership with more than 77 nonprofit partners ranging from food pantries to meal sites. At this time, the Food Bank can use donations more than ever, with so many people in our community being sent home from work without pay, and with schools and childcare facilities being closed.
James Beard Foundation: The purpose of the James Beard Foundation Food and Beverage Industry Relief Fund (the “Fund”) is to provide critical financial assistance to small, independent restaurants that, due to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) national disaster, have an immediate need for funds to pay set operating expenses and keep from going out of business. Our goal is to do our part along with federal, state, and local governments to provide for workers, sustain local business, reduce the financial impact on communities, and otherwise mitigate the severe economic consequences of this global pandemic.
United Ways of California: United Ways of California have established a statewide relief fund to help Californians impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Monies raised will help families impacted by quarantine, disruption of income, and other challenges, while ensuring the equitable distribution of philanthropic resources through coordinated community relief efforts. Through this fund, neighbors can help neighbors and also support other Californians who are vulnerable. In other words, this relief fund complements regionally-specific funds launched by local United Ways and our nonprofit partners to lift up those who have been knocked down by this extraordinary crisis, community by community.
